Although still referred to as ‘contracting’ within the industry, casual on-hired work can provide better rates of pay. It also gives you the flexibility to travel to different destinations and work on a variety of different projects. Working as a casual ALG employee gives you more flexibility in selection of projects. It also gives you an opportunity to gain experience on different types of aircraft working in Australia or overseas.
- Casual work is a good way to see if you like working for a particular company and could be a lead in to a full time job.
- You don’t have to leave your full time employ to become a casual worker many people take leave or have long service and use this to earn extra money.
- Many casual workers don’t have to work a full year but still earn a full years wage so this gives you more time for yourself and family.
